Step By Step Tea Blending

Let’s begin your Mixology personal blend session and experience tea as you like it!

You’ll need a few tools to make your cup of tea and tea blend:

– Table spoon or tea scoop
– Infuser or reusable or disposable tea bag
– Small mixing bowl
– Teacup or teapot
– Kettle

Before you start blending, are you doing it for health reasons or simply flavour? When blending for flavour, consider the tastes and aromas you’d like to achieve.

Fruity, spicy, floral… once you have an idea, start blending in a small batch as this is an experimental experience and all part of the fun!

There are 3 main tea blending techniques:

Blending herbs, inclusions and scenting.

For our purposes of the mixology bar we will be using bases, herbs and inclusions.

Mixology bar Ingredients:

– Base teas (breakfast, Earl Grey, white, green and decaf) (flavoured black teas)

– Blending herbs (ie chamomile, peppermint, hibiscus, ginger, roses, spices)

– Inclusions (fruits and flowers)

*tea scents are alternatives such as fresh blossoms and essential oils
